Diabetes is a common endocrine disease with a genetic predisposition. Second, the distribution ratio of carbohydrates (sugars), protein, and fat in food should be: protein 15%-20%, carbohydrates 50%-60%, and fat 20%-25%.
Third, when choosing carbohydrates, strictly limit the intake of monosaccharides and disaccharides (such as sucrose, honey, and various fructoses, which can cause a rapid rise in blood sugar). Choose carbohydrates rich in polysaccharides, such as a mixture of buckwheat flour, oat flour, corn flour, and soybean flour, or a mixture of corn flour, soybean flour, and wheat flour, rather than white rice or white flour.
Fourth, increase the intake of high-fiber foods, such as pectin, plant cellulose, buckwheat hulls, and pumpkin. Many dietary fibers, including pectin and guar gum, have significant blood sugar-lowering effects.
Fifth, limit alcohol consumption. If you drink alcohol, eat immediately to prevent hypoglycemia, especially if you are injecting insulin.
Sixth, fat intake should not be excessive, consistent with weight loss. Consuming more polyunsaturated fatty acids from vegetable oils can lower blood lipids. Generally, the recommended daily fat intake is 0.6–1g per kg of standard body weight. Limit foods rich in cholesterol, such as animal organs and egg yolks.
Seventh, it is best to eat small, frequent meals.
Eighth, for weight loss medication, you can choose hypoglycemic agents. Hypoglycemic agents not only control high blood sugar but also help with weight reduction.
