The secret to successful weight loss: Reject processed foods and choose natural foods.

The secret to successful weight loss lies in avoiding processed foods.

With advancements in lifestyle, it has become increasingly convenient to purchase a wide variety of foods, but this has also led to a large amount of processed foods in our diets. Improving gut health requires reducing the intake of processed foods as a fundamental step. This is because processed foods often contain numerous additives, artificial trans fatty acids, and preservatives that damage gut health, inadvertently promoting the proliferation of harmful bacteria.

Food additives provide almost no nutritional value to the body, but they enhance the flavor, texture, and extend the shelf life of food. Simply put, food additives make processed foods look appealing and taste good, but once consumed, these additives require processing by many organs before they can be digested and metabolized. This undoubtedly increases the burden on the body and seriously affects health.

Although most additives in processed foods today meet national standards, discussing toxicity without considering dosage is irresponsible. There are so many processed foods available now, and for convenience, we increasingly choose processed meats, beverages, various meal replacement products, and a large amount of snacks and cakes. Therefore, the cumulative effect leads to the body ingesting a large amount of additives. For example, a single bag of potato chips already contains more than 20 additives. Processed foods are truly a "minefield" for weight loss.

Compared to processed foods, natural, unprocessed foods have higher nutritional value. Unprocessed foods contain a complete combination of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals – nutrients that the human body can recognize and utilize. While processed foods may have added nutrients, the high degree of processing and the use of numerous additives lead to a lack of enzymes in the food, and the artificially added nutrients are often in a form that cannot be effectively utilized by the human body.

Which is healthier: a potato or potato chips? The answer is obvious. Similarly, meal replacement products will not help you lose weight in a truly healthy way compared to natural foods. Therefore, regardless of the form, processed foods are the foods that should be avoided most during weight loss.
